Advantages of Al
-- The cost of Al is 30% of that of Cu(for same weight)
-- The specific gravity of Al is 2.7gm/cc and Cu is 8.9gm/cc which means for same volume, the weight of Al is 33% of that of cu.
Disadvantages of Al
-- The conductivity(capacity to conduct electricity) of Al is only 60% of that of copper.
-- For same conductivity the diameter of Al wire should 1.26 times that of copper which makes the product bulkier.
Anyways at economic point of view for domestical use Al far supersedes Cu. No wrong in using Al.. Cheers
