How to set up an indoor aquarium garden?
Hello. I recently purchased a 1 gallon aquarium. I am not going to put any fish into it, but instead make an underwater garden. What all do I need? What substrate? CO2? What temp? Filter? What beginner plants?
I know a one gallon is kind of small for an underwater garden, but I already have four fish tanks in my room, so this is small enough to do what I want.

A good aquarium planting medium will work well, temp depends on what plants you want to keep 75 will do for most plants however, you don't really need a filter for a planted tank with no fish (thank you for not trying to stuff fish in a 1 gal tank btw) to produce waste. "Beginner plants" would be java moss, java ferns, Anubias, Anacharis
Rotala , val etc. All are easy keepers provided they have sufficient light. Since you have no fish to provide "fertilizer" you will need to occasionally add aquarium fertilizer. Depending on how heavily you plant you may or may not need CO2 infusion
